Since 2010, we have been offering Villa Eden as a retreat in the idyllic Peene Valley River Landscape Nature Park. Nestled between the picturesque orchid meadows of Gützkow, old apple trees and dense forest, our estate offers guests an oasis of peace and relaxation that is often hard to find in urban areas. For culinary delights we recommend Trattoria Toscana – Gützkow. An outstanding restaurant just 10 minutes away, offering a variety of delicious dishes in an enchanting setting.
The history of the “Garden of Eden” began with the construction of a steam sawmill in 1778. At least the “Zimmermann Canal” was renovated this year. It was used to float the required timber.
The half-timbered house, formerly known as “Villa Hedwig”, was built in 1901 and changed hands in October 2010. Since then, the half-timbered house has been called “Villa-Eden-Peene” and is inhabited by Barbara Thomsen.
Our property is located in the most picturesque area of the Peene Valley River Landscape Nature Park and borders directly on the River Peene. Surrounded by flowering meadows, the rustic riparian forests of the Peene Valley and a variety of flora and fauna, our “Garden of Eden” is a true jewel of nature.

The Villa Eden Peene team from Gützkow opened a new campsite in Anklam in May 2023. Guests can spend the night there in tents, cubes or on houseboats. The new campsite is located directly on the River Peene and on the Berlin-Usedom cycle path, making it ideal for water hikers and cyclists. We offer our guests 8 cubes and 6-8 pitches for caravans or motorhomes. Camping is of course also possible, and there are sanitary facilities such as showers and toilets. Just like in the Villa Eden Peene, there is also a spacious outdoor kitchen for our guests. You can also book the campsite for family celebrations, weddings or company parties.
When you visit Villa Eden Peene, you can choose between accommodation in vacation apartments, tiny houses or yurts. Alternatively, you can pitch your own tent under the apple trees in the Garden of Eden. Just drop by during your tour!
Culture raft tour
Since 2017, our Kulturfloß project has been sailing across the river with artists to bring culture to the banks of the Peene for locals and visitors to the region. The hat goes around (no entrance fee).
Next stop Kulturflosstour 2024 at Boot & Bike Anklam on Friday, July 5, admission from 6 pm, start 7 pm.

In the middle is the barbecue or campfire site, which can be used by our guests at any time. There is also a clay oven, a huge “soup pot” with max. 100 liter capacity which can also be used for smoking. A sink, gas stove, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery are also available for your use. So you don’t need to bring anything with you. Except for the contents of the pot and the grilled sausages…..
You can also book the outdoor kitchen for your celebrations such as birthday parties, stag parties, company outings, school enrolments etc. on request.
